Is the parts monkey on the prowl again?

Not sure if you'll need to lower the engine with your SS hood - I know you did with the stock hood.

Plus you'll need to upgrade the fuel system.

You never know what the monkey can find. I think I'm cool on the hood (if the SS blower would fit, I think the 3.4 Whipple would). It might be a deal too good to pass up. Might have to have CD go give it a visual for me (it's in SoCali). Upgrade to what, 80lb injectors? Or more than that? I'm assuming FORE rails (when/if I EVER get the end caps) would clear it too.

Rails are mostly cosmetic.

Larger injectors, BAP / FGT fuel pumps - I would say yes to be safe.

if not mistaken, with 80lb injectors, you'll need spacers for the rails and longer bolts. plus there may be clearance issue on the driver side wrt the plenum area. aeromotive has the fitting..remember..:doh2:

is my fuel fitting thread here....:doh2:

Here is the link for the spacers, not sure if you can use the 80# injectors with the 3.4, biggest I could do with the 2.9 was 72# but haven't had a close look at a 3.4 lately to see if the plenum will interfere like on the 2.9.

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=10848

The 3.4 cars I know of have been doing well, they only move slightly more air than the 2.9 which is why I waited, didn't want to lower the engine and throw the suspension angles off or change the hood. If you have any fitment or product concerns drop Dustin Whipple a line ([email protected]), he has been straight forward and open with me on anything I have asked.

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing since I have an SS hood already, I'll be fine with clearance (may have to remove strut tower brace I would figure). It's just one of those "is it too good to pass up" type of deals. Since I'm still on my stock blower, it'll blow alot more air than I have now I figure. Of course, if TG would hurry up and send me his TVS, this point would be moot.

Likely, the 3.4 would be way too much for what I need (mine is a track virgin and my DD), but I'm trying to build it up so eventually when I have a beater for a DD, I can try to have some fun with it. Figure I wouldn't tune it aggressively at all (maybe have an aggressive tune with a much more conservative tune for daily use). I just think if I can really get this sub-2500, it's hard to pass up.

Sub $2500, sounds almost too good to be true. Is there anything wrong with it? Lots of miles? Hopefully there is nothing wrong with it. Sure is a good starting point for the mods.

Oh well, temptation averted. So, I had posted a note to the seller to say all I had to offer was 2200 and I knew that was too low so GLWS (I wasn't really interested unless it was a stupid deal). I was shocked when he sent me a note and said he could work with me. Well just found out that work with me was to take off the TB and drop from 3600 to 3200. Not much of working with me. Oh well, better for me then. I really shouldn't be doing this stupid stuff anyways right now. But the parts monkey loves looking for deals.

Probably better anyway. That 3.4 would have been a little too much for a DD.

might need better tires to do that......stockers ain't gonna cut it. Dang this hot Dallas weather. Decent tires would be a waste as I'd have to replace them annually. Heck, they'd probably melt on the tarmac-style roads down here.

But sure would be fun to turn heads.......

I replace my tires on my 01 just under a year. Plus I hardly ever get to go to the track :(

That 3.4 looked like it has way more then 200 miles. Looks like it was in the desert or something.
But for 2200 it would have been worht the try. Anything more, just pass it up.

Used to be, sold it a few years ago after using it as a track bike only for a few seasons.

Honda beat Ducati at their own V-Twin game with this bike in World Superbike, then the Homologation rules changed to allow Inline 1000cc Fours and the RC51 was gone.

The American, Colin Edwards, The Texas Tornado won the WSB championship on a 51! Bike's were called Sp2's though in Europe, only in North America where they called RC51's.

Here's Colin, one of the best Motorcycle Racers ever!
