Got a hold of a 2015 Mustang GT seat for conversion...

Lots of work :faint:

Let you dwell on this a bit...

Seat AC/heat pad?

This plastic pad thingy had fluid in it that ran through a pump that cooled the seat. There was a metal piece that heated up for the heat.

Then a small fan to get it through the cushion.

:faint:

Leather cover and cushion sits on top of that.

To the right of the white piece, you can make out a slot in the seat.

This is what I used for the harness belt.

All the pics are hard to make out because there is SO much going on in the seat.

And the belt ends up a couple inches further back than I wished, but that was the only convenient slot through the AC/Heat pad device. :(

It would have been nice to have it about 3" forward, but it was convenient having a slot where I put it.

If I had it further forward, the pad w the AC fluid in it would have to be modified....if that was even possible...and the metal seat pan would need to be cut.

Did the drivers seat today.

Found a major Ford fail.

Now that I modded the seat I know I can't get them to fix it. :nonono:

See the white pad thing in this pic.

http://i670.photobucket.com/albums/vv61/fastestshelby2/2015%20Track/DSC01549_zpssa1by5bv.jpg (http://s670.photobucket.com/user/fastestshelby2/media/2015%20Track/DSC01549_zpssa1by5bv.jpg.html)

That's the cooling membrane. A fluid runs through it for the seat cooling.

The drivers seat does not have one. :nonono:

In this pic in the upper left you can see a tube running to a black part, I think that is the pump...also missing on the drivers side. :nonono:

http://i670.photobucket.com/albums/vv61/fastestshelby2/2015%20Track/DSC01545_zps060sqcal.jpg (http://s670.photobucket.com/user/fastestshelby2/media/2015%20Track/DSC01545_zps060sqcal.jpg.html)

I thought maybe the drivers side was cooled differently (which didn't make sense) or perhaps it was cooled a with pulling air from and underseat duct, but there isn't one. :nonono:

I believe Ford forgot the whole system in the drivers seat.

The button on the dash still works and blows air from under the seat and you can feel it and it makes a difference, but it definitely isn't cold like it should be.

Still have to look up if Ford shows those parts on the drivers seat.

I looked for an empty connection plug and didn't notice one. May have been tucked behind something I didn't take apart.

No idea how much parts would be to add, Ford parts catalog is near impossible to find these parts in the seat section.

Wow!How weird is that?! I'd call Ford CS anyway -- tell them you were adding a 5-point and noticed it's missing ...the mod may be unapproved but the feature is still missing -- it's not like you broke it. Besides, if you can keep a straight face when you talk to them, it could be very funny :rofl3: Hello, Customer Service? ... :haha: Then again, could Tucker have swapped out that seat for some reason?

Tommy Gun

I'd like to know the cost of the parts first. If reasonable, not even worth the trouble of contact...although I'm sure someone at Ford would like to know. And...how often does this happen?

Tucker told me today that even though he didn't drive the car much he did think that the seat never got very cool, but read online that maybe something was disconnected and never got around to checking. :(

I wonder if those others who thought something was disconnected are missing something to? :ClassActionSuitPendingAdmissionandFix:

Bill, was that a standard feature on the GT or part of a package (in theory, anyway -lol).

You can order the heated/cooled seats in one of the packages.

Like a convenience package or something .

Seat, dash controls, etc are different.

I'll have to see where I put the window sticker...

Some dufus had the same problem (http://trackmustangsonline.com/index.php?topic=11120.0).

So that smaller rectangular 'pad' that's missing on driver's side is a gel weight-sensing pad for airbag control ...clever way to measure ...probably a pressure sensor in there somewhere.

Still, yours looks to also be missing the actual cooling tubing and pump too.

Maybe the car is so cool they figured driver didn't need it :shades: lol

So why isn't the drivers seat cooling like the pass seat? Everything is connected, I checked while apart.

The pass seat really gets cooled.

Tommy Gun

Yeah, now I'm at a loss.

Glad I may not be missing parts, but not sure why drivers isnt cooling like passengers?

I can feel the fan blowing, but what actually cools? Just ambient cool air from under he seat?

If so, why is pass much cooler? :(

Wish I could find a good seat schematic.

I wonder if it uses one of those solid-state cooling modules or something like that, in which case it might just be an electrical connection. I looked on the Motorcraft site but could not find any useful schematics. Possibly if you searched with the actual VIN ...I just used a model search.
