This Tech Guide (http://www.svtperformance.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Gas-Engine-Modification-Bulletin.pdf)sort of says it all!

No big surprise here, you play, you pay. It looks like the biggest concerns are the modded turbo cars. I'm betting they are most suspectible to not holding up with added power.
You can expect to add a lot of power and expect Ford to cover it.
There tree doesn't suggest voiding a warranty of mods do not appear to be causal of the failure.

Yeah, it seems fair to me ...what's new is that Ford is creating materials to help Techs logically determine if a failure is likely due to mods since that's necessary under Moss Magnusson Act to decline warranty work.

It kinda hints that if you can prove it, its covered.

I noticed they even show pics of a JLT intake and an Innovations West OD pulley, among other things ...they even tell Techs to look for signs of removal on the bolt heads of the stock pulley, i.e. swapped and re-installed, etc.
If nothing else this also demonstrates an attempt to have dealer service treat customers somewhat 'equally' from shop to shop -- at least it shows an attempt to do so and I'm wondering if that's not part of the intent since there is so much variability. I don't think it will necessarily change that as long-standing customers/relationships will still tend to get better treatment, but it may very well be important legally for Ford to provide such tools to enable consistent treatment of warranty work under Moss-Magnusson -- regardless of how dealers work within it. So it may well be as much a service-shop lawsuit 'shield' as it as a warranty claim reduction tool.

I bet with the 15's and newer cars they will be able to see if the computer has been flashed and what it was done. I wouldn't think of flashing my Taurus. Wonder how many people have taken there cars in for warranty work for twisted driveshafts.

Could be ...haven't heard anything new on that, Art. I think they would have to know exactly WHAT was changed for it to be useful/actionable i.e. the details of the entire flash would be needed to distinguish between a edgy tune vs a simple diff ratio flash. (Hmmmm, some 'tuners' could well come to fear such capability :weg: -lol)
They can see exactly what was going on in the last 30 seconds or so -- in the event of a serious accident a court can have Ford rep (dealer Techs can't) "deep scan" for all sorts of info like steering wheel angle, throttle position, speed, braking, vehicle yaw, etc., but that's a whole 'nother ball of wax ...they've been able to do that for +/-10 years now.
