Selling long unprofitable Euro operations to PSA/Peugeot.

Wants to focus more on core business and self-driving cars.

GM has had a presence in the Euro market for nearly 90 years.

Getting rid of Opel is probably a bad move. Vauxhall not so much :)

Agree ...it gave GM the German 'connection.'
