Actually not as hokey as it sounds ...imbedded sensor/transmitter (a couple grams) right in the tire ...talks to your smart-phone.
(and just in time for the NSA to hack too :haha:)
Now if Ford were to integrate it to post wear/pressure/temp/urgent warnings on the IP display via Sync-3 like all the other supported apps (and maybe it already can), that could possibly be handy to log track temps/pressures too.

For the second time since we owned it our Honda threw the TPMS low pressure light. I checked all tires and all were at 30PSI (door sticker says 33). That shouldn't be enough to throw the light. I brought them up to 35 cold and after 2 days the light was still on. I reset it. Is there a way to tell (maybe from OBDII?) which tire is at fault? Maybe we've got a band sensor...

Dunno.
On our Fusion it gives about 4 psi leeway between tires before a light. I bias rears 3.5 lbs below front and the fronts 2 lbs over recommended for best handling and never lights that way but when I pushed it to 4 it did but, after adding 1 psi, light went out after driving for 10-15 minutes.
I don't think the Fusion had very sophisticated TPMS in 2009 ...I believe it just uses rotation sensors to measure tire rotations/mile and differences between tires and also absolute max rotations/mile (lowest pressure) permitted before a light. If the Honda is newer it may have a more sophisticated system but back then I think non-performance cars generally got the cheapest implementation that would meet Fed law.

Sell the Honda the TPMS system is going out. Big money to fix.

With the car running, try filling all to 40, reset, then slowly let air out of one corner while someone watches the dash. When it goes off, document what pressure is on your gauge. Continue for all four. You may learn something that way.

:ohsnap:And he needs a steering stabilizer.
