We've all heard stories of parents who, when baby can't sleep, take it for a ride in the car ...seems there's something about the ambience and motion that rocks baby to sleep.
Well, apparently there's something to it and Ford is working with another company who has developed such an auto 'cot' (check out video). The idea is you can use you smartphone to 'record' the characteristics of the auto trip that works and the 'cot' reproduced it as a pseudo-trip at home. n
In an unusual sort of way this seems very similar conceptually to how Ford invented the auto 'shaker rig,' track motion sensors and multi-path data recording instruments behind it that was needed to do track recoding and then simulation on the shaker rig (now de rigueur for every serious racing team on earth -lol) that was ultimately responsible for the GT40 being able to trounce Ferrari at Le Mans and elsewhere 50 years ago.
Amazing what you can do with a smart phone with motion/orientation sensors and a cool-looking baby bassinet -- clever!
