Amazing! 7:16:04 is about 17 sec quicker than a bone-stock GT350R. Admittedly the Camaro has benefit of an additional displacement, supercharging and 120 HP and 200#ft Tq -- plus Multimatic's patented spool dampers (that all the serious Conti Challenge racers use anyway) since you can't run the magnetic dampers in racing classes (at least none I'm aware of) and since MM's spool dampers require no active management they are also plug-and-play into prior Camaros, once eventually available through GM performance parts.
I suspect (but dunno) the 1LE may be why Ford is taking so long with the new GT500. It's been clear for 6-8 months the 1LE would be a stormer so you would think Ford would have wanted a new GT500 as a '17 model for the 50th anniversary of 1967.
Maybe, like Camaro, Ford will have two versions: GT500 and KR, since KR was '68. Maybe not -lol Maybe there's a whole 'nother Mustang model coming.
Still, no matter, the 1LE is impressive...
