Hello everyone, Friday i took red to a closed track rental. First pass off the trailer car yanked the wheels and pulled off a 1.44 60 ft, my stupid race seat slid into the back of car and was unable to finish the pass😡. I go up again I pull a 1.43 60ft car goes a 10.94 at 125.8! It felt super fast... we all got excited and tried to set the stock 3v record so we put more power at her. I go up again and pull still a 1.4 but 1,48 60 so I knew I wasn't going to be that great, top end around 1000 ft I pull 4th and car makes an ugly sound I look in the rear view and I have a huge smoke cloud behind me, I blew a rod out the side of the engine😂😂. I wasn't mad and thankfully I didn't leak down the whole track in oil or get oil on the slicks and crash, could've been a messy situation for sure! I can't believe the little 3v lasted me 5 years of abuse!!! Going with a little more of a race set up but staying with a 3v because I don't know how far of extreme I want to go with this car anymore...... I really want a gen 2 s197 shelby ( I'm keeping red forever). So I'll be ordering a 5.0 stroker motor soon, keeping it a stick car. 10pt will be going in and ac and radio are coming out. This set up will get me in the low 10s high 9s all day long I'm really on a quest to go 9s. I'm just happy I put a fully stock 3v with a procharger bolted on it into the 10s!! With a stick!! (I'm also sticking with procharger but upgrading to a d1)

Sad to hear, Jim, but, like you said, could have been a lot worse and the 3V did endure for 5 years!
Sounds like a great plan -- 5.0 stroker 3V ...probably won't be many with that config ...and you can tweak the d1 ;-)

Idk if you heard but we took home the championship with the cobra jet, I am building the trans...anyone can go fast with an auto I like challenge when I go 8s it will def go auto

Life is a biyatch when you are Minion sized. Not being able to reach the pedals OR see over the steering wheel. Just sitting there hands on the wheel going "Vroom Vroom"
