So going to SEMA, “if” I get a spare moment what is a must do close by?
I have no idea where the SEMA show is located in the city.
Would like to waste a couple dollars on a slot machine, never seen one before in person. Lol
Staying in a condo, it don’t know where that is located either. Lol

@ Las Vegas Convention Center.
SEMA info (https://www.semashow.com/)
Friends of ours went to Vegas and visited the new Shelby facility and museum (now in downtown, no longer out at the 'track') and also much enjoyed Rick's Restorations (http://www.ricksrestorations.com/), Danny Koker's Kount's Kustoms (http://www.countskustoms.com/index.html)and Pawn Stars' Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (https://gspawn.com/). Shelby is sort of right in-town as is the pawn shop ...Rick Dale and Danny Koker are further from the strip. I'm sur there are plenty of other cool places but those are the ones that would also be on my list. You might also like the 'zoo' at Mandalay Bay ...lions, tigers, and an awesome Shark Reef Aquarium you may like -- we loved the aquarium walk-thru (https://www.mandalaybay.com/en/entertainment/shark-reef-aquarium.html)section!

IMO the two most fun things are free....
1) Walking through the casinos is neat, the interiors are really interesting...try New York New York, Bellagio, and Caesar's Palace for a few good ones
2) People watching on the streets...lots of performers and interesting costumes...don't talk to anyone or they will ask for money
Notes: Beware, if you are allergic to cigarette smoke, it's hard to stay away from....it's allowed in most public places. Also, the distance between casinos is amazingly far. Just because you see on a map that one casino is "right across the street" from another, don't assume you can walk there in 2 minutes...takes more like 20 minutes. Everything is expensive.
There is a free water show in front of the Bellagio around the clock...I don't know the timing but it runs like every 30 or 60 minutes....just stand and watch the fountains. Also used to be Treasure Island had a free pirate war nightly, not sure if that's still going on.

Shelby American museum/factory tour (south strip)
Hoover Dam (1/2 day) (Boulder City, east)
Valley of Fire (combine with the dam for full day trip) (Through Lake Mead, mostly north)
Red Rocks park (west), allow 1/2 day to stop and take pictures
Mob Museum (the one downtown) Allow 2-3 hours
Take the tram down to the end (at MGM) and walk the strip after dark. The Bellagio also has a really cool glass artwork in their ceiling at the entrance and a garden that changes.
Bellagio water show (best after dark)
Note: Most strip casinos now charge for parking.
Old downtown (Fremont Street) is pretty cool at night for their light show. Some of the oldest casinos there and some even still take coins.
I think the Pawn Stars place is cheesy, none of them are ever there and the line can be hours long.
The Treasure Island pirate thing was pretty cool but is now closed. The boats are still at the entrance.

Yeah ..went 5 years in a row ...while the kids lived in Henderson. Loved it! First year I was there I thin was the fall of 2005 -- the year before they revealed the GT500 in NYC . Ford showed an supercharged engine (stand engine) with a SC in the valley. Ford Performance guy (Dan Davis) said they abandoned that approach (which was true) but, of course, he never said the GT500 would be SC'd but the SC would not be in the valley. The also showed a car that looked much like what the GT500 would be but engine compartment was close and I could not get DD to open it. You can bet that was a GT500 proto. Use to love interpreting the display signs in the Ford exhibit. They always 'telegraphed' something for was focusing on or working on. One year an approved project showed a 'Sand Rail" with the all new 3.5 V6 ...with twin turbos and making 500HP -- years before a 3.5 EcoBoost ...SEMA rocks!

I'm up for any day just let me know. If you can come down to my neck of the woods there is a Twin Peaks about 2 miles from my house. It has bodacious babes in skimpy outfits and dang good outfits and good cheap food.
Sort of up in the middle is Ellis Island. They have home made ribs that are to die for (we get them from the Village Pub locally) and also is a microbrew place. If we go to Ellis the boss would have to come. It's OK, she hasn't eaten anyone for a while.

Be sure to plan out what areas of SEMA you want to visit, central hall is usually were most of the custom cars are as well as the major manufacturers. As mentioned there are also a lot of tire dealers, so unless you have a thing for tires it makes for lots of walking. Unfortunately I'm not going this year otherwise I would have to try to take a picture of Bill to prove he made it past the Mississippi, nobody's going to believe it !

2018 729 Wide-Body Mustang “TriAthlete” created by Roush ...
This Roush 729 Mustang is a custom-built 729-horsepower Roush-supercharged wide-body Mustang, with styling cues from the historic 1970 Boss 429. Finished in the commemorative hue of Ford’s Grabber Green, the Roush 729 features Roush’s all-new 2018 Mustang body kit in conjunction with a custom wide-body kit. The Roush 729 is equipped with various race-inspired carbon fiber parts and custom Vossen RVS forged wheels. Roush’s new supercharger sits atop the 5.0-liter engine, producing a staggering 729 horsepower.
Ok, whoever is at SEMA has to get a pic of the SC under the hood of that green Roush 5.0 build ...I'm thinking it could be the much-awaited Ford version of the front-inlet TVS 2650 that it has been heavily rumored Roush is doing for Ford (as in the past).

Oh and more. If you're looking to lounge and for a pool (I think all of them are heated), then we liked the pool at the Monte Carlo. They have a "lazy river" thing but I think theirs got shortened by the tram station. Mandalay Bay has one too. Both also have a spiffy wave pool. Both also have Cabanas where you can just sit in the sun.
It's not too cold to enjoy them. My water was 82* today, plenty warm if you're active, and the sun and air temps this week are going to be OK for lounging in the deck chairs.
Really, SEMA is kind of overrated. I think you will likely get OD'd on it after a full day there. Certainly only true "manufacturers" will be there all days.
Oh, and please post pics of booth babes. My wife wouldn't let me pose for a pic with one particularly bodacious babe.

I think you should check out the Ford area. I heard it's nice although the custom builds are scattered all over the place.
Ford exhibit is always very cool ...their information stands with each build often (intentionally or otherwise) leak future offerings (as I'm suspecting the green Roush Mustang may). Ford traditionally has had one of the, and, for many years, THE largest exhibit space at SEMA. Maybe GM has now caught up (dunno) but getting additional space is no simple matter b/c there is none.
All seven of Ford's sponsored Mustang builds, and several other sponsored builds of Focus RS, etc, will all be within their exhibit space. There will be lots of other Mustang (and other) builds too -- all over SEMA -- featuring various vendor specialty pieces.
One other area that there's often some gems is outside ...just down from the main entrance. Typically actual vintage drag racing cars you thought were long gone but also some very creative private builds that don't necessarily warrant product or sponsor space inside but are truly special builds. Might find a couple of extraordinary S/C Coyote builds in early Mustangs, wild customs, etc. There are typically a few dozen of such outside builds on display.
SEMA is simply awesome. It would take several days to cover it all, even very lightly. I used to give it 2-3 days with a good portion of one day going thru Ford and Ford performance and talking to as many folks as I can. It's is no uncommon for one or two select Ford/FRPP/brand execs to be covering various displays.

Thanks, Bill!!
I had a hunch it would be the reveal of Roush's all new TVS 2650. What a great design too! Front inlet but looks like they figured out a better way to drive the second rotor without a separate drive shaft to the real -- looks like they are using one rotor with a rear gearbox to drive the other rotor ...very smart!!
I'm thinking that will be what sits on the new dual-injection 5.0 in the GT500 -- with Ford labelling, of course.
Thanks for the pics!
