Thinking about one of the Mustang choices from Lebanon Ford in the next year or so after saying up some more money. http://www.lebanonford.com/lfp-800hp-mustang.htm

I like that all the work is done and still has a reasonable warranty to back it up.

They don’t say that they are positively doing it next year also, so it would depend on that too.

So probably looking at a 2019, Whipple charged, Performance Pack car.

They do other upgrades as well, so would have to think on those supporting upgrades. If the OPG is still an issue then would have that upgraded and possibly headers. And would have the rear axles upgraded to either the 800 or 1200hp axles.

Most of the smaller suspension upgrade pieces I could do myself.

Not sure what a factory driveshaft is good for in an IRS car, so would have to look into that.

Thinking I would be able to still keep this car well under $50K.

With the new GT500 being close to $100K this is a no brained for a next car and much more power than my Shelby had. This car will be about 800hp at the motor depending on tune.

Still in the thinking about it stage. Denpends on money down and would want to pay it off n 6-8 months afterwards as well. Also decide on picking it up or having it shipped. Doesn’t look like I have any friends near Cincy to give me a ride from the airport, although I guess I could Uber. :look:

Lol

The price seems very reasonable for what you are getting.

I like the looks of the new Whipple 3.0L blower, wonder how that would look under the hood of my F150 in RED !!

So for $39.9K it's a 300A stripper/base GT with a 700rwHP Whipple (800 crank) Would you plan to track it. For regular street use wouldn't you want other amenities? A well-equipped MGT premium is around $50K -- starts around $40K MSRP ...certainly at least want Magnaride option regardless of street/track/strip. :shades:

The revised 2018 Mustang site p (https://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/?searchid=308212740|1299622798172180|8122645628310 1&s_kwcid=AL!2519!10!81226437016212!81226456283101&ef_id=WWgYGwAAAdkxxxzC:20180225180954:s)resents all the options fairly well now.

I don't think the GT500 will tag near $100K but would not be surprised at a $79.9K base <not counting ADMs :innocent: lol>

That link is their minimal upgrade.

I would op for the Performance Pack Premium package.

This wouldn’t be a track car, already have that.

Just a fun car.

And Autonation is already stating that their GT500 ADMs will be $35K, so I’m sure other dealers will be at least $20K on top of the $70K car. $65K if you are a wishful thinker.

Still this car would be near half the cost and be very close to what the GT500 is, again don’t care whatsoever about the silly Shelby badging.

To ad to this whole thinking...I haven’t got Dave’s approval yet.

CoPilot already disapproves, but she doesn’t run the company and bring in the money.

My thoughts...now that you asked...I may be gone in 10 years, house should be paid in 5-6 years. We have no other payments, she can sell the Van, the Truck, the Mustangs, and move into Joe’s basement stupid cheap and b*tch w Deb.

So in the meantime I’ll have something I’d like to have and enjoy a year or 4....then probably sell to afford a vacation in Clearwater after the current TripAdvisor hype is gone and the crowds go down.

Then finally Theresa and I can enjoy ourselves after meeting at Orfstock in 2009....

Something like that....

Ah, that's makes sense. The MGT is an awesome value! As an alternative, I believe the Roush version of the 2650 will be made available in FRPP catalog this Spring :shades: very likely will outflow the 2.9 Whipple (likely more efficient too!) -- dunno about a 3.0 Whipple (tho Whipple also has larger ones). I can't wait to see how MGT Perf Pack-2 does against the Z28 1LE.

$35K ADM on the GT500 is simply bizarre :faint: tho I don't doubt it! It has to outshine the 6.2 TVS 2650 ZL1 1LE -- those who have the bucks will probably pay up!

Yeah, I was thinking $75-80K on the GT500 w/o ADMs ...has to be $10-15K over the GT350R which MSRPs around $64K (non-R MSRP $57K, I think, tho with options and shipping my bud's will be around $61K not counting taxes and $3K agreed-to ADM which it looks like dealer has forgotten to add after all :giggle:)

On a slightly different subject, I have to wonder if there will be two different packagings of the GT500: the '18 MGT-PP1 already has some tweaked IRS bits (vs the '15-'17) and PP2 (Z28 1LE slayer) will ship in the Spring, but the GT500 has to slay the ZL1 1LE -- no mean feat! Bullitt gets the GT350's intake and larger TB (which MGT doesn't get) and at least 375HP (probably 380-390) but doesn't get the PP2 super-handling package that will be an MGT Premium option, I believe. Definitely performance and handling 'creep' on the GT350 is going on, probably driven by good old fashioned competition.

Then there's that SAI video in which a former SAI employee -- now a Ford employee -- says about the GT500 that "venom kills demons" and is downright giddy over the GT500 he's seen info on but obviously can't talk about. Seems to me a road/track car and a drag car pull optimization in two different directions. Also seems strange to me that Ford would sell a traditional-mount TVS 2650 through FRPP and also an all-new upside-down in-the-valley version (shown in what seems like intentional Ford leaks) for the GT500. So I wonder if the in-the-valley (not easy to replace) is the road version and if maybe a drag-pack version will use the traditional-mount which is easier to mod (bolt-on bigger SC). Or maybe the traditional mount is just for FRPP/aftermarket with the top-intercooler/valley-mount 2650 only for the GT500 to make SC swap difficult. Just seems strange Ford would commission two distinct 2650 implementations ...seems like unnecessary expense UNLESS there's a good reason, like two different audiences and/or packages or simply clearing the low hood on the GT500. Ford has also TM'd the upright-cobra as a design mark ...just like the one shown on the leaked GT500 SC (intercooler-on-top version).

Why not?

But as I look at it is this anything other than an advertising promotion? Couldn't you do the same by buying an identical mustang and having the supercharger (which you can often buy discounted) installed by your dealer? The warranty is standard - nothing special - just the regular Ford warranty + a warranty from Whipple which is probably their standard package. Do it locally and you at least have people you can drive to instead of chatting on the internet or phone and trying to be an intermediary to your local dealership where the work would be done anyway.

But remember to take care of the boss first. That's why I'm selling the FGT. If that ever happens. I thought Vegas would be a good place to sell it with the high rollers around, but alas, no nibbles after two years.

Exactly, Tony. I think the new FRPP 2650 will carry a 3yr/36K warranty on powertrain if installed when new by authorized dealer.

One, I don’t trust any of our dealers here to do a recall, much less dig into my engine.

Two, the people doing this upgrade are not exactly just dealership techs. They are part of Teambeefcake Racing

I’ve ordered plenty of parts from them in the past.

http://www.teambeefcakeracing.com/info.html

Warranty is good at any Ford dealer.

I'd wait the FRPP 2650. Roots TVS high-twist is simply more efficient -- and 2650 supports over 1,000 HP.
