I've noticed this for quite a while but Firefox just got the ability to do screen captures within its windows so I thought I'd mention it.
The forum software actively pushes a new post count to an open window. Sometimes the count gets an error that is displayed "off center". Pics below
Good:
22384
Error:
22385
A page refresh fixes it.

That's almost certainly a browser-related issue. Though I've never had that issue here on SU, I've had similar issues on several websites (including weather channel and Yahoo home page) and even reported it a couple of times ...WC claimed it's inconsistencies across browser implementations (Yahoo just told me they recommend I stop using IE-11) , so I tried a different browser (Edge) and it doesn't do it -- but I like IE better than Edge so I in the rare instances it happens for me I just reload the page. Just a guess but I suspect it has to do with the timing of how individual browsers resolve segments of the webpage ...possibly exacerbated by the fact that all page segments don't necessarily travel the same path through the net. In the past browsers would wait for all segments (as if it was a 'message') but webpages are now so complex that the boilerplate is often loaded independent of some content so I suspect the issues have to do with that based on WC & Yahoo. Strangely, I don't recall that ever happening here tho I don't doubt it at all.

It has always done this on my iPad. Just normal I think.
If I close the iPad and come back hours later and no one posts it stays good.
If someone posts, then it does it’s thing and wants a refresh.

Got it. This is what is called "a bad implementation of a good idea" :)
At least I'm not the only one :)
