I tried to search on previous discussions about this but not specific threads popped up.
Photobucket got a new CEO and not only went back to allowing pictures to be posted on 3rd party sites but also lowered their pricing. The free market has spoken.
BTW I am not going back now.

Apparently according to the article they restored all pictures so if you still have a link in a 3rd party site the pictures will be viable again.
I deleted all of my pictures so none of them will display now on those links.

Amazing how rethink-receptive bankruptcy can make a company. :giggle:

begs the question, is a customer really someone that doesn't pay for a service??

The site is advertiser laden, so yes, free accounts are "customers".
I was paying 90/year to host my photos. I signed up after the Vegas Ford GT rally in 2014 and all of the lookers brought me up to the bandwith limit. I was "OK" with 90/year, but not 400/year. The paid subscription would disappear after a time anyway (my wife will not keep it up after my dirt nap) so I dropped it instead of paying the extortion. I was going to delete them because of their abandoned account policy that turns over rights to photos to them for an account that has been unused for over a year. The odd thing is the images never got replaced with their speedo thingie, so I just left them.

I never sign up for any of those photo hosting things -- I 'host' my own photos -lol ...besides, under current laws they all will eventually own your photos; that's their long-term game -- fine if pics you don't care about but pics of children and 'asset' pics (potentially for sale) should never be put on any of them, imo.. Even when I post 'nice' pics here, I either invisibly watermark them or reduce the effective resolution (size, density, compression) such that they are effectively not sellable. I don't trust any of the pic hosting services.

As I've said before, Ansel Adams would never have posted his pics to the internet.
