The “this” is the article says Taurus discontinued to make room for..

Might be a bit of a leap to infer a Ford Bronco w SVT Mustang inspired drivetrain, suspension, interior from that tho that would be way cool!!

The "yet-to-be-named rugged off-road small utility" sounds intriguing ...Ford had previously mentioned a two-door and every one, myself included, assumed a 2-door Bronco (which may also be coming) because it was mentioned along with a bunch of stuff in the original Bronco media release (quite some time ago). "Rugged," "off-road" and "small" sure sounds appealing.

I also saw in another recent media release Ford acknowledging that people want more ground clearance in their SUVs. I had talked with Ford rep (not a docent) last year in NY and he was very interested in why that's important to me, and also interested in my comment about a "flat-floor-length" spec that no one except Subaru ever seems to provide -- i.e. how far from front seats to tailgate when everything that can be folded truly-flat is folded truly-flat. I told him that 'outdoors folks' -- even older folks -- want to be able to 'crash' for the night somewhere down an off-road back road but without clearance you can't even get there and without at least 6' flat length you can't comfortably crash there. After a few more minutes of talking he seemed to have an epiphany -lol- that folks actually want that and was surprised how frustrated I was with Ford over not offering that. He immediately mentioned the Edge (which does have moderate ground clearance but not so great for its wheelbase) but the floor is not all that flat ...most Fords second row seats are what I call sloped-flat.

Anyhow, a small, 4/AWD, off-roader with 6' flat floor, good clearance and no silly chin spoiler that will get ripped off (lol) would be awesome! I find it ironic that Ford ran a media release a couple months ago on what I'll call "Transit Van Life" -lol- with how artists and outdoors folks have customized their Transit vans to live in while on the road doing what they do for a living, but the notion of having useful clearance, AWD and attack/departure angles with a slope greater than a Kansas interstate seemed to totally escape them <argh!>
