I switched trucks about six weeks ago. It is so nice to have a truck with all the electronics working and responsive. They've also improved the Transmission since the first year they introduced it.

My last truck was a true Platinum Lemon.

What is the point of what he did in the first video?

What is the point of what he did in the first video? The wiring can spark or heat up I think, and that stuff prevents the carpet from catching fire.

He removed bunch of stuff from the seat belt area cover. At first I thought it was possible interference with the retractor but this says risk of fire...

I have had my Toyota TRD for almost 2 years now. No issues whatsoever. Not a single squeek or noise. This is the 1st truck I have owned and not had any issues at all. Just sayin. Now I will wait for the Turd posts. lol

Turd post....

I work at a Toyota dealer twice a week every week... I watch truckloads of frames come in every time I’m there for Toyota trucks.

This is ONE dealership doing non stop frame replacements on trucks. Great yours is doing fine and hope you get your time out of it and sell it before it needs rebuilding. :wtg:

I lost my faith in Toyota back in the eighties and w seeing this the last few years every week I wouldn’t put my money on them now.

Sorry, but first hand info is key to me....

How do you replace a frame on a Used Truck?

Why are they swapping the frames out on the trucks?

HSURB®

They're developing rot perforation, cracks and failing so Toyota decided it was cheaper to replace 800,000 frames at a cost of $3.4B than to replace the trucks (plus drives some business to the dealers too).

I appreciate the first hand info. I read up on the issues before I purchased my 2017 Tacoma. Changes were made to prevent this from happening again.

Yeah, it’s just crazy watching these in the shop w parts all over the place. No way I would want the truck after a shop completely takes it apart and puts it back together. Hope yours never has such an issue!
