Raiders play at Minnesota on Sept 22nd...we will be there.

Considering at NY Jets also but that game is near Thanksgiving so we might wait. Oddly enough, they will play the Jets in NY in 2020 also. Fluke of the NFL schedule.

And if that doesn't work, they play at NY Giants in 2021 lol.

Bold games are ones we might go to. I'm not sure if we'll go to LA more than once even though they have 3 teams now.

Raiders stadium will not open until 2020, but here is a nice video of the progress to date.

Tony, if we want to go out for a game, but don't want to stay on the strip, do you know where we can find a good area to get a "typical" hotel (not a huge fancy casino hotel where you have to park 10 minutes from the front door and walk through a casino to get to your room) within 20-25 minutes or so that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? We don't like all the traffic, cost, taxes, and smoking on the strip.

I stayed here. Off the strip, don’t have to walk through the casino unless you want breakfast (very good breakfast though). You can park out front or right by your room.

There are some casino/hotels on the southern strip. The Silverton is closest to the new stadium at I15 and Dean Martin. A couple miles south of there on Las Vegas Blvd is the South Point and then a few miles south of there is the M (this being fairly pricey for an off strip property). The Silverton is headquarters to the Shelby annual gathering. The South Point is the Vegas Rodeo Central, and often you will see horse trailers in the parking lot. I call it "the horse arena". There are lots of other non-casino properties in the same area.

Word is that Silverton will have a bus shuttle to the stadium, but my guess is that the local transportation district will eventually come up with their own bus routes. I prefer the public version over the hotel ones since they quit running. People at the stadiums in Denver get caught when their hotel shuttle fills up and leaves and people went downtown for a dinner/beer and end up having to take a cab/uber.

PS. The expectation is that the hotel rates in Vegas will go bonkers during game weekends, especially for the close ones. I remember when I was going to the Bay Area. I used to stay at the Hyatt Regency. Towards the end of my travels they were finishing construction on the stadium (I was awakened at about 2AM one morning when they decided to test the stadium lights. It was like an A-bomb going off outside my window). It was scheduled to open that fall. They had a sign saying that essentially the hotel would be sold out every game weekend from Friday through Sunday night and that mere mortals could not get rooms. Apparently the teams and their high rollers were filling the place up. Expect the same thing to happen in Vegas.

Thanks for the info Tony...I've added it to my "travel" document. Obviously this is a long way off but I agree the hotel prices will increase during Raider game weekends. I have a distant friend who has business box tickets for the Raiders and they have some sort of housing for traveling employees. Not sure if he'd invite me to stay at his housing or maybe I'd get a hotel.

Sorry Dave I have been thinking about you as this all keeps unfolding.

Here is the content of an article in a local Pittsburgh newspaper that very clearly puts it all into perspective, especially the comment about what Colbert was able to get for him.

His arrivals at Training camp became a circus when he got his first big contract the same year the Steelers let Samuals walk in free agency to Denver. There has to be a collection of his arrivals on the internet somewhere.

*********************************************

For a guy who is known for having one of the greatest work ethics in all of sports, Antonio Brown certainly has been missing a lot of time on the job. He went AWOL before his final game with the Steelers last season in a successful attempt to force a trade and get a new contract. Now, he is skipping out on the Oakland Raiders, who traded for him and gave him a three-year, $50,125,000 deal.

It has been one controversy after another with Mr. Big Chest and the Raiders. First, it was his blistered feet that were allegedly frostbitten in a cryotherapy session gone wrong. Now, it’s a dispute with the NFL over the helmet he prefers to wear. The Raiders have had 11 practices and played an exhibition game so far. Brown was able to do his look-at-me arrival at the team’s Napa, Calif., camp in a hot-air balloon, but he took part briefly in just two early practices before disappearing.

“I support this guy,” Raiders coach Jon Gruden said Saturday night after an exhibition game against the Los Angeles Rams. “I think that’s what needs to be said.”

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?

What else can Gruden say?

The Raiders are stuck with Brown now.

Don’t you just love it?

If you listen closely, you can hear the laughter coming from Steelers training camp.

“I think we’re all disappointed,” Gruden acknowledged to ESPN last week after Brown left the team. “We think he’s disappointed. We’d like to get the party started. We’d like to get him out here. He’s a big part of the team.”

The feet fiasco with Brown is bad enough. How he could allow that to happen is almost unfathomable, although Gruden called it a “total accident. … It really wasn’t his fault and it’s a serious injury. I know some people are [joking about] it, but it’s really not a laughing matter. The guy was hurt. He’s innocent. He didn’t do anything wrong.”

HelmetGate is even more hysterical. Apparently, Brown’s helmet doesn’t meet the NFL’s safety standards. He threatened to sit out the season or even retire after the league told him he couldn’t wear it.

If you remember, he said he didn’t need football and suggested he might retire after last season, hoping that would hasten his trade from the Steelers, which it did.

“The helmet thing is a personal matter to him,” Gruden said. “He has a strong feeling about what he’s worn on his head. We’re supporting him. We understand the league’s position as well, so we’re in a tough spot.”

All of this has put Gruden and his other players in the awkward position of having to answer questions for and about Brown. The Steelers know how miserable that is. They had to answer for Brown after he pouted and jogged back to the huddle during a two-minute drill in Miami and threw a water cooler in Baltimore and skipped work the Monday after a sideline blowup with offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner and — worst of all — bailed out on the team before a game against Cincinnati it had to win.

Isn’t that silence from Steelers camp — aside from the laughter at the Raiders, of course — a beautiful thing? The coaches and players appear focused on their business, although their world was rocked Sunday morning by the tragic, unexpected passing of receivers coach Darryl Drake. The Raiders have become Team Turmoil because of the narcissistic Brown, who continues to believe he is bigger than the team and can play by his own rules. I don’t know about you, I can’t wait for the next “Hard Knocks” on HBO. It should be great fun watching Gruden and the other players squirm.

I’ll bet the Steelers will be watching.

No one at their camp seems to be more focused than Ben Roethlisberger. He clearly wants to prove he can be productive and win games without Brown, who, in fairness, is the best receiver in Steelers history. That is a powerful motivator.

It never came down to a Ben-or-A.B. situation with the team even though Brown tried to make it one. I truly believe Brown had no real issues with Roethlisberger, that he targeted him with hate only to force a trade and get that new contract. It’s all about the money with Brown, which makes you wonder if all of the current nonsense surrounding him has anything to do with the New Orleans Saints giving Michael Thomas a $100 million contract. Brown can be petty and jealous.

Everyone from Art Rooney II to Kevin Colbert to Mike Tomlin knew Brown was a problem and knew he had to go. It seems almost comical now that Colbert took criticism for getting just third- and fifth-round draft choices from the Raiders. Considering how toxic Brown is, Colbert was lucky to get anything at all.

“We hope Antonio is back soon,” Gruden said, admitting he doesn’t know when that will happen. “He’s exciting to be around. I’m excited. I got some plays for him. I hope we can start calling them.”

Good luck with that.

No I have not seen it.

And as for all the antics, only time will tell. If he gets back on track and plays well...anything he does outside of that (as long as it's legal and ethical) is fine with me. I usually just laugh about the idiotic things some players do...a la Chad Ocho Cinco and tell Terry how they will have a difficult life after football acting like a 12 year old the rest of their lives.

I put this together mostly to see which teams get prime time, but it does provide other data also.

The Sunday, Monday and Thursday night games hurt the cities relying on revenue from concession sales as these games are normally not well attended and most people had already eaten before going into a late starting game and have to get up for work the next day so they don't consume as much beer as a weekend afternoon game.

I used to go out for all of the games to a local bar when I lived in Pittsburgh to be with friends to watch games but now I like watching the games at home on a big TV I can see. Being in Clearwater I can't always get to see the games at home so I have to go to one of the Steeler's bars in the area to see the 1pm & 4 pm games

And your surprised??? This is how the majority of people saw this playing out last week.

Odds are Oakland did not do enough over the off season to enhance the offense to Brown's liking and he probably saw how Carr is not the quarterback that will help make Brown excel so he wanted off of the team using the SAME tactics he used to get out of Pittsburgh. All troubled players end up with the Patriots for a year and then they are forgotten, the same will happen with Brown.

The good news for us is he is not eligible to play on Sunday so we don't have to deal with anymore of his drama!

If there’s a coach/qb combo that has a chance at keeping him in line it would be BB and Brady. If they can, watch out. Brown, Gordon, Demaryius Thomas And Edelman would have to be one of the best wr groups ever (lot of ifs, but man just think).

Gordon has fallen in line now with them so it is possible Brown will too. Let's keep in mind all of the events from the time the trade to Oakland occurred and this past Saturday was part of the plan created the moment the Patriots were denied their request for a trade for Brown. Very likely. But it was Brown's plan (but I'm sure all the haters will be out there saying the Patriots were pulling the strings, and that's ok.....................i'm used to all the hate, it actually feeds me now). But you can't deny that Brady at 42 throws the ball better than 90% of the QBs in the league (I'm leaving room for Mahomes above him). And as we saw last night, Brown isn't a solution to a problem, he just adds one more option. But I do think with AB added, this may be Brady's best season statistically.....................but all he cares about is getting those last 4 fingers covered up.

Mike it has nothing to do with people hating, Belichick made a play for Brown when the signs first surfaced that the Steelers might be willing to trade Brown but the Steelers refused to deal him to a potential playoff competitor so they waited for a team like the Raiders to come up with some worthy draft picks, Sorry Dave. That is when Drew Rosenhaus altered his plan to have Brown continue his antics like he did in Pittsburgh until the Raiders were ready to release him, that is why the guaranteed money wasn't truly guaranteed, Drew Rosenhaus knew that would create a drop dead date for the Raiders to release him so they could complete the plan to have Brown play with the Patriots which Belichick was in on, he had to be for this to work. Really it's no big deal, I am sure you see similar things happen in your business as well as other places too.

Now if only Rothlsberger would retire and the Rooney's would move on from Tomlin we would have a better shot of being a better team than we are now. All of the rest of the players are highly talented.

Now if only Rothlsberger would retire and the Rooney's would move on from Tomlin we would have a better shot of being a better team than we are now. All of the rest of the players are highly talented.

So clearly, there has been collusion since them time the Patriots tried to trade for him and now. Clearly. I mean, it's all right there in _______________________. Yes, Rosenhaus knew the Patriots would be interested. No doubt. They tried to trade for him, he knew that. But to make it a fact that Belichick did anything but answer the phone when Rosenhaus called after the release is fiction. If it was SO obvious, do you not think Goodell would force an investigation (which he's not). Everyone knows he hates the Patriots and Kraft with a passion.

Now, maybe what the Steelers should have done is take the Patriots offer of a first round pick instead of a third and fifth (realizing that they have no shot at unseating the Patriots until Brady retires. Brown's addition doesn't really change that dynamic at all (except they would have had a selection in the first round...............that they could have used on a player or traded to created additional value). What Brown does is change the Patriots from a 12-4 or 13-3 team to a 16-0 or 15-1 team. Either way, likely home field advantage, so the Steelers didn't really prevent anything by not trading him to the Pats except for receiving lower draft selections. Would have been interesting to see them draft Hollywood Brown to replace Antonio Brown, no?

All of the rest of the players except for Moncriefare highly talented.

Another Antonio Brown accuser. Can’t judge without facts, but I believe a majority of these types of accusations are simply people wanting money or to accomplish some nefarious motive a la Brett Kavanaugh.

The more I hear about AB, the more I believe the women. Now one of them is saying he had sex with another woman while she was in his room painting a mural on the wall. :nonono: The mural was of AB...what an ego lol.

Arriving in hot air balloon at practice?

Secretly taping and then releasing phone call with coach Gruden?

Saying he's done with football and posting his college course schedule on Twitter?

Put him on the witness stand and he'll FAIL.

So... the Steelers were criticized for letting him go for the crappy draft picks they got, at this point between Oakland, Boston and Pittsburgh were the only ones who got anything out of him this year.

You are correct. The Raiders got the WORST deal.

I heard New England didn't even have to pay his signing bonus...something about conduct unbecoming tot he team....something like that. I bet those contracts they sign are 30 pages long lol.

This has been an interesting year with all of the starting QBs out. Some teams are thriving better with their backups, some are holding the situation and some are not helping. In all this season has definitely gone a different direction because of this.

Raiders having trouble even with their starting QB. Twice this year he has fumbled through the endzone while trying to reach for a touchdown, thus causing a touchback for the other team...and losing one game as a result of this. Dufus. :nonono:

Good first half. I think if KC can contain SF's run game in the second half, they can win it. If not SF is going to win.

KC offense was good for 1st half but their defense has faltered and SF's offense has picked up and they're getting the ball more. Possession is 9/10 of the law and in this case, the game... I was (and still) hope for KC but I think SF got their act back together.

Well.... KC scores a by-the-skin-of-my-teath touchdown. In the play review angle I saw I would have declared him out but they gave it to them... So now with a little over two minutes left can KC hold off the SF offense?

Commercials have been pretty lame. The Google "Remember" spot was touching. My favorite has to be the Doritos with Sam Elliot. The actual star of it was his mustache!

I'd seen the Hyundai Boston parking one already, but I think you have to be from or have lived there to appreciate it.
