Although pale yellow, that car is badass.

Dual 4 barrels

My bro's friend has a 'regular' 427/425HP 2x4bbl BW 4-spd top loader in a blue metallic '63 Custom (lighter than the Galaxie).. It was quick (that's the one I got to polish the 2x4bbl venturis on as teen!! ...I was so happy my bro's friend trusted me enough to do it). They ere rated 425HP but made more like 480.

I think the 2x4bbl SOHC was also 'rated' at 425 but reportedly made 530-550.

(world record T-Bolt run ^ ^ ^)

The '64 T-bolt Fairlanes dominated factory stock with essentially the same 2x4bbl 427, tho the T-bolt got the revised side-oiler, was 425 pounds lighter than its big brother and got 4.56 or 4.88 locker and real headlight ram-air. They reportedly made 510HP right off the showroom floor. Drive from dealer to track, win factory super-stock trophy so long as no other T-bolt showed up :rofl3:.

At the time Hot Rd Mag tested the BW 4-spd version at 11.76 @ 122.7 ...and that's a car mag tester -lol.

On modern slicks and with the automatic (in '64 Ford only made 100 for homologaion -- 51 automatics and 49 Borg Warner 4-spd top-loaders) in 2009 Phil Featherston set the fastest T-Bolt record at 9.23 @ 156 :faint: ...that's haulin' azz  -- video link above.

Those were fun years to visit NY National Raceway or Englishtown <sigh>
