Sounds like Ford is really bringing some iron to Goodwood!

But it just dawned on me how they're describing this new Ford GT: "Ford GT Ultra High Performance Supercar"

Makes me wonder if this isn't a LeMans-focussed car but possibly "idea: a 5.2 GT500-powered FGT ...I mean, that's what everyone actually wants!! :weg:

:chirp:

5.2 GT500 motor, OD Damper, pulley, tune -- 900+ HP.

Screw Le Mans -lol- this would become a legendary machine! ...with a factory warranty! :faint:

That's what "Ford GT Ultra High Performance Supercar" means to me  :shades:

:innocent:

I messed with Ford's pic in Photoshop.

That new FGT is not going away in the pic -- it's coming at you!

And that scoop on top! What would mandate a lot more air? A lot more HP!! Whether for intake, or cooling, or both, more HP requires more flow.

Check out the shadow/density/detail tweaked pic -- the front lights and fenders seem totally different -- seems there's more airflow focused over the car vs around it...

...we shall see on July 4th!

Larry Holt answers lots of questions

1.2M starting price, which will not be a usable car - there SHALL be some options. Entirely built and sold by Multimatic. 45 units (15/year for 3 years) above the Ford street car numbers of 1350. Most likely these are like the Mustang GT4s, and the other Ford racing offerings from the parts department: No VIN, just a serial number. No warranty and ZERO (actually less than 0) support from Ford. Only Multimatic, and if you ask Ford you'll probably get a bill.

It answers the question of "what would a Ford GT unfettered by the FIA and homologation rules look like". This is it.

2019 total Ford GTs: 229

2019 total Ford GTs: 229

So how many is that total so far? I don't think they got their 300 for FIA Homologation until early-mid 2019, and they've got to build 1350 to finish it out. Pretty slow. I'll bet Multimatic will regret this arrangement with Ford...

Don't know total ...that was from 2019 production by nameplate.

Multimatic has a lot of irons in a lot of fires. Probably just about when production is rolling along will be when it's done.

I wonder if they are already making the FGT MkII?
