Well I've not been happy with how "fuzzy/cloudy" my gauge cover lenses have been on the Camaro for quite some time. I knew they were scratched up, but wasn't sure how much of the fuzziness was due to scratching and how much was due to just dust and dirt inside the lens covers.

Before pics....you can see in the 2nd pic I outlined the badly scratched area. These three pics are all of the fuel gauge cover, which is on the right side.

Here is a picture of the gauge with the lens removed (one photo with flash, one without)

You can really see the scratched area here...focus on the 1/4 fuel level area... :headbang:

I did get quite a bit of black soot off the back side of the lens, so they are a little bit cleaner now

Here is the speedo lens after...it looks better than the other side

So now I have to decide...do I leave them as is or do I want to buy new ones for $110 for the pair?

What about polishing with polishing compound and jeweler's rouge or similar?

TG saw them and said he'd not had much luck with that. Anyone actually done it?

I would give it a shot. If it doesn't work you can always buy the new ones.

Pretty sure I replaced mine on my GTO years ago.

If they are really scratched up it doesn’t work real well, but you look like a lot of it ended up being dirt. Some very fine car polish may make them better.
