You're probably aware that Symantec bought LifeLock some time ago and that, whether or not you subscribe to a LifeLock plan, they more recently have merged the names of the companies into "Norton LifeLock" (whether or not you actually sign-up for any actual LifeLock protection plans).

Currently Norton LifeLock continues to the following classes of offerings:
#1- various flavors of antivirus protection (as they have for decades)
#2- internet antivirus plus a VPN
#3- internet antivirus plus a VPN plus various levels of LifeLock protection services

Question:

Is anyone using Norton antivirus plus ANY of their packages that include a VPN (i.e. #2 or 3)?

If so, how smooth did the VPN install and, more importantly, have you had any issues with the VPN since (I've read it can balk on certain unusual file types).

While I'm not interested in their broader LifeLock (#3) offerings I'm considering adding their VPN.

Anyone have any experience or insight? :tiphat2:

I have been using Avast for many years, it's free and works great.

I've seen the ads. We get Norton Antivirus for free from Centurylink. I don't know what the VPN thing does.

Is Avast a VPN? I thought it was just antivirus.

It makes you sort of invisible to hackers b/c your address is blind and it's fully encrypted.

Art are you (or anyone here) using Norton's VPN?

Their antivirus is arguably the best (I use it).
