Ok, so I'm all for a good bargain, right?

But when it seems too good to be true....

So I was looking to buy some new (higher quality) chisels for the woodshop. Did some research and many people like the Stanley Sweetheart chisels...so I found a part number and started shopping.

Found them here for only $58...great!
https://www.worstmere.com/stanley-sweetheart-750-series-socket-wood-chisel-set-8-piece-16-793

But I had never heard of worstmere, so I did some checking at other places that I KNOW are legit...such as Zoro.
https://www.zoro.com/stanley-socket-chisel-set-18-to-1-14-in-8-pc-16-793/i/G4601992/

Hmmmm...almost 3x as expensive.

Went to Amazon...
https://www.amazon.com/Stanley-16-791-Sweetheart-Socket-Chisel/dp/B0051PCQ7Y?th=1

Hmmmm...almost 3x as expensive.

So I thought I should check out Worstmere. Went to their general website homepage.
https://www.worstmere.com/

I noticed that the products they sell are "varied"...that's odd. No links for any woodworking tools or chisels...so how did their name come up in Google? Also their shipping policy says they use DHL...that's an odd shipping company. Also the wording in some areas makes it seem the person who designed the site is not a native English speaker. Their address is shown as 109 Patch St. in Fort Huachuca AZ. I googled that on street view and it's a residential house.

Searched for "worstmere scam" and found this.
https://scamwitness.com/worstmere-com-reviews
https://www.cyberbunkers.com/2020/03/worstmerecom-reviews-is-worstmerecom.html

BBB has no record of them.
https://www.bbb.org/search?find_country=USA&find_latlng=31.555216%2C-110.349922&find_loc=Fort%20Huachuca%2C%20AZ&find_text=worstmere&page=1

So just for kicks I tried another tool...maybe the chisel price was a mistake. Zoro shows this laser level for $189.
https://www.zoro.com/dewalt-cross-line-laser-intext-red-166-ft-dw088k/i/G7640044/?q=dw088k%20

Worstmere shows it for $54. No way that's right.
https://www.worstmere.com/dewalt-165-ft-red-self-leveling-cross-line-laser-level-with-3-aa-batteries-case-dw088k

No way I'm buying anything from that company.

In the end I didn't want to spend $160 on the chisels and didn't think I needed 8 anyway, so I settled on a different set. Should arrive today.

Glad you didn't buy anything from them.

I wouldn't have wanted you to get chiseled out of your hard earned money.

I ran their site on Norton SafeWeb who, surprisingly, have no reports (good or bad) on the website, but, yeah, I would not buy from them. Good thing you checked, Dave!
