I recently purchased a 1970 Ford F100 2 wheel drive pickup truck to use for a daily driver around town and use for some of the volunteer projects I am involved in. looking forward to it arriving just after Thanksgiving. I should not have to much work to do because the truck had a frame off restoration with a new Long Block 302, 4 speed manual on the floor, new driveline and rebuilt rear end, new gas tank under the bed, exhaust and so much more. Basically everything has been replaced including all seals and bushings and all the wiring. There was very little rust on this truck. The floor pans, 2 cab corners and 2 cab supports were welded in. the inside of the cab floor, firewall and under the cab and bed were then shot with that bed liner material. I hope you like the color !!!! The outside of the cab was sprayed with stone guard, then black paint and then clear.

5 years ago you could have bought it untouched with all its patina (a car nuts word for rust) for $500. Maybe put 2000 into banging out the panels and a paint job. I'm betting you paid a little more than that
Trucks have gone bonkers. Nice!

Here some interior Pics. The truck has heated seats with a control button for Driver and passenger on the little added dash under the ash tray. The other 2 toggle switches run the new overhead cab lites and the back up lite. There is also a oil pressure gauge and Tach.

The under side of the truck has a new driveline and rebuilt rear end to the original gearing. All Sheetmetal surfaces were sprayed with bedliner after the rust was removed. gas tank used to be behind the seat. A new one is now under the bed and the cab was welded up.

The guy that restored the truck has been working on it for 4 years nights and week ends. He retired last year and finished it. He's sending me a log book that he wrote in every time he worked on the truck describing what he did or subbed out. He has all the receipts and is sending them to me and they total somewhere around 20K from what I understand. I paid $16K for the truck. I'm insuring it to drive full time seasonally 5 months out of the year thru Hagerty. I'm insuring it for $16K with zero deductibles and high coverages for $322 per year. I will be driving my Shelby allot more now for personal use now.

Wow! What a sweet vintage F100, Rob!! They were such 'honest' basic trucks! Love it!!
Best of luck with it when you get it. :chirp: ;-)

Nice!
Those door hinges and rear tail lights look exactly like our early Bronco we had. I’m sure they used many parts between the trucks and Bronco back then to save inventory and keep prices down.

I'm super excited to get it. I sold my 2017 Toyota Tacoma to the internet outfit called :

I paid $36,032 for it and they bought it from me for $29,079. They are sending a truck to my house to pick it up next week.

So, he didn't use an iPhone or it would be back to upright again -lol

It's weird tho -- I've posted a ton of pics from my iPhone and they always face the right way whether taken portrait or landscape. I know it's in the metadata but I'm wondering if the 'problem' happens if you don't let the pic revert to normal before dismissing it. On my iPhone it won't let you dismiss the Camera function before a landscape pic reverts to vertical so why do my pics never have that problem? Hmmmm.

I have that picture problem too most of the time. I can get rid of it, but I don't know what I did to fix it lol...I open the pic with paintbrush, rotate it, and then save it....but sometimes that doesn't fix it either...I just keep rotating back and forth and eventually it works lol. Very scientific. :hilarious:

Working on your issue w posting Grabboid, but seems something is going on bigger than I know. Hoping Joker can figure it out. I think a few here have had the same issue like Alibi and left. Once straightened out will email those people. Some setting has been changed or something. Working it out.

It's because how iPhones (and maybe others?) record the metadata associated with the photo but for some reason mine isn't doing that. I notice when Tim posts from his (iPhone) the pics often post sideways. With mine I've posted here directly from the iPhone and also from my computer using iPhone pics I've uploaded and they have always (so far) shown correctly regardless of the pic's initial orientation, which makes no sense -- tho I'm not complaining -lol

It has to do with the size of the pic I think...

This site explains (https://iphonephotographyschool.com/iphone-photos-upside-down/) how the EXIF tags are the cause (so to speak) because they contain the orientation info that is ignored by MS Windows ...and that is correct!
But the site also says that if you take [landscape] pics with the volume buttons on top (on iPhones you can use volume buttons as the shutter release vs screen touch) the pic will be disoriented. However I ALWAYS take landscape pics with the volume buttons on top and they are NEVER disoriented. I have no idea why tho! :rofl3:

Tony, on your phone if you take a landscape pic will the phone let you dismiss the camera app page without turning the phone to upright (portrait)?
Mine won't. It requires I orient the phone back to portrait before it lets me dismiss the camera app page. I'm wondering if that's why my pics curiously don't have the 'problem.' Supposedly the camera doesn't write the EXIF data until then so I'm wondering if the app is dismissed before that if the orientation is not properly resolved. I don't know -- just wondering.
That link I posted says the camera doesn't write the EXIF orientation info immediately so as not to delay being able to immediately take another pic (or a rapid-fire sequence) so maybe that has something to do with it.
