I noticed that there was not a section dedicated to the newest GT500! Someone has really dropped the ball on that one!:doh2:

Anyway, wondering if anyone has any thoughts/experience with the newest beast. I’m really curious and have been reading everything I can about it for the last month. Someone might have an itch that needs to be scratched!

Forgot about that :doh2:

Well, I’m kicking it around. Waiting for a call back from my dealer. Car dealer, not crack. But at these prices crack seems like a cheaper alternative.

I’m wondering about the Recaro seats. Not sure how my back would hold up in them. They have some in stock so I might have to go down there tomorrow and sit in them to feel the difference. Would look nice with the other two mustangs in my garage.

The carbon fiber wheels are simply awesome but make me nervous. Rumor is that they are 6 grand each to replace. Pot holes would present a real challenge.

On the wheels you have to trust someone to put new tires on one day also. Probably only at a Ford dealership :spend:

I think Tek was in charge of adding new forums? :waiting2:

Yea carbon fiber wheels. Won’t be taking those down to the corner tire shop. My luck they manage to make 2 out of one.

I’m going down tomorrow to sit in the different seats and see how they feel.

Haven't brushed up on the details in quite a while but I think you can opt for the regular seats with the Track Pack (which are very comfortable -- my friend is so glad he got them on his GT350 and I'm almost 6' 215 and they are really comfy even for long distances) but I think the CF pack comes only with the Recaros. They are improved somewhat over the GT350 Recaros but most of the press seems to feel they're only worth it if you're going to track it regularly or for short trips.

Yea that’s what I’m worried about with the Recaros. I already have a bad back and don’t know how much they would suck. Don’t really plan on any long trips with it. But you never know. I’d like to be able to hit the track once a year or so and the nearest real road course is about 2-3 hours away. Plus in the 110 degree the cooling would be nice. But I’m sure I could suffer through if needed.

I've not sat in THESE recaros, but have in others. IMO if you are going to mostly use the car for short, aggressive driving, I'd get them. But if you plan on taking longer rides or leisure driving, I'd skip them. In general, racing seats feel great for short periods and really hold you in the seat, but they will get to you on longer drives. Also ingress/egress more difficult with them....that "errand run" where you have to get in and out of the car 6 times in an hour will wear you out.
