After the crap with Twitter (never on Twitter before) and stuff starting on Facebook, I’ve signed up on Parler, Clouthub and MeWe.

Parler looks good to keep up w my political friends like Hannity, Levin, Carlson, Stinchfield, etc. Clouthub so far looks very easy to navigate. And MeWe is just a little weird and may take time to figure out.

Trying to see which I like best and go from there.

Such a shame FB got everyone to join there and then tried to enslave us. Glad I found an escape tunnel where I can still sneak in and see where my friends are heading. Feels like Hogans Hero’s lol

Thinking I may keep Clouthub and Parler.

Apple is already dropping these sites from their App Store, so they have got to be good. Lol

On Facebook I "Unfollowed" many friends after the crap they started throwing out this week. By Unfriending someone you still remain friends with them but you don't see anything that they post and they aren't aware that you have unfollowed them. They still get to see everything that you post.

This is not the same as Unfriending which totally disconnects you from them.

I started using the Unfollow feature way back in the beginning for anyone who posts nothing but pictures and updates on their dogs or cats. Then I stated doing this to the ones who post on average 20 times a day with useless stuff clogging up my feed.

I am a member of several car, train, motorcycle and social groups that provide entertainment or information so Unfollowing cleans up my feed so I can see what I want to and not want I don't want to in an enjoyable way.

The Purge and cancellation of any and all Conservative Influencers overnight it unprecedented.

I imagine there will be a massive backlash over this and creation of new Social venues.

Twitter is going to destroy their income stream. With all of the paid social we have currently placed for our customer base through 2021, Monday morning we are going to request a 40% discount in rates over their loss in followers. They simply won't be able to deliver the impressions.

Most places now want to use "two way authentication". So how stupid is it?

Install your bank app app on the cell phone.

Sign up and give your cell phone number to send an authentication message.

You're already on the phone. They send you a text message with an access code.

You enter access code and your phone now has access to banking app.

---Now how stupid is that? It's on the same phone. Duh. You know no more about how real I am than if you just let me sign on without the code.

Crook steals your phone and hacks in because you used a square to sign on to the puzzle challenge. New session some time later. Not you but your phone is "open".

Sign on to the bank app. It uses two way authentication and sends a code text message to the cell phone.

Yep, crook just copies and enters it.

So just how secure was that? All this two way authentication does is add a few minutes to the sign on process. It doesn't make it more secure.


I'll make the same argument if you use a PC (be it mac or PC) and use your email as the signon.

I'm curious how you could move that much data that quickly. It used to be that sneakernet (copying to mag tape or hard drive) was faster than any network for huge volumes of data like this.

Yeah, it's be near impossible to move a large DB in a day. Maybe they just served them notice. AWS probably has to give them time to move else they'd be liable for damages -- not that Bezos can't afford it -lol
