I need an RS601H rocker switch for an LED rechargable light. The current switch sometimes doesn't work, and if I push on one edge of it ...it starts working. The problem is that it's integrated into the light, so it must be the EXACT same size or it won't work. I find a few online, but they want me to buy 200 lol. I only need one. I see some on Amazon where you can buy like 6 for $6...and I'd do that if I could be sure it's the EXACT right size...but hard to tell.
I can buy a whole new light for $35...so I'm not going to spend a bunch of time on this. If I have to pay $10 for the switch, and pay shipping...I might as well get a new light....but if someone knows an easy way to get a switch, I'll try it. Radio Shack? We don't have one nearby. I like this one because it has a magnet base, and also a thing you can hang it from, and it's very bright, doesn't get hot...etc. I've had it about 5 years...**** cheap switch lol.
Here is the exact light I have.

Here is a pic of the rocker as installed...

And here is sort of what it looks like when removed. I've not yet unsoldered it...but they are soldered terminals.

P.S. Dan probably has a few of these switches sitting around. :hilarious:

Try DigiKey. They've got just about everything down to component level. If you can identify the switch manufacturer and/or part number they'll probably have it. And you can get from 1 to 1M+.
This one looks close

I don't have that exact one, Dave. -lol
But if it's a standard sized mini, check out this one (https://www.parts-express.com/SPST-Miniature-Rocker-Switch-060-670) (18.4 mm L x 12.9 mm W x 13.8 mm) at Parts Express -- it's the same company I mentioned for that DPDT-CO we were talking about for your drum sander mod.
While you're there you can pick up some of their Insta-Cure (1-3 second!) cyanoacrylate (https://www.parts-express.com/Insta-Cure-Super-Glue-1-oz.-340-602) and/or some accelerator (https://www.parts-express.com/Super-Glue-Accelerator-2-oz.-340-630) (hardly needed with Insta-cure -lol) and or some cyanoacrylate debonder (https://www.parts-express.com/Super-Glue-Debonder-1-oz.-340-640) (for when you glue your fingers to something) ...to make the shipping worthwhile.
They're very helpful. If you mic the dimensions they might even measure one for you. Ask Customer Svc (800-338-0531) to put you thru to Tech Support.

Well thanks to everyone for the ideas...I tried for a bit, but could not find a switch that matched.
I figure the issue is dust in the switch, as I use this light a lot in attics (insulation dust) and when I'm doing paint/drywall work.
So I took some compressed air and blew out the switch, and it seems to work ok for now. We shall see.

I was going to suggest you douse it with "tuner cleaner", but when I went looking for it it looked like brake cleaner or carb cleaner was about the same stuff.

Time for a 5% solution spray of Caig Labs D5 DeOxIt (https://www.parts-express.com/CAIG-D5S-6-DeoxIT-Spray-with-Perfect-Straw-5-oz.-341-200) (yep, also at Parts Express -lol)-- it will not only clean the contacts but will prevent future oxidation.
DC switch contacts tend to oxidize a lot more than AC switches and even though it's a low voltage device it still draws more current that you might think (because for a given amount of power, 1/10 the voltage is 10x the current!).
There are four flavors of DeOxIt in three solution levels but for general cleaning, de-oxidizing and preventing future oxidation all in one, D5 is what you want.
I use it all the time. It's not cheap, but it's the very best and deoxidizing and preventing. Anyone who works on electronics will sing its praises. I bet Tek is familiar with it.

You have to be careful with tuner cleaner and read the label. Some tuner cleaners leave a oily residue. i like to use the "zero residue" stuff.

Yes. I was cleaning the MAF sensor on my daughter's car and I think I settled on brake cleaner as the best immediately available solution.

Thanks, I’ll get some of that stuff.
