I had tickets for the show in Sep 2020 but it was canceled due to Covid. Got the email yesterday that its rescheduled for Oct 1, 2022. Yes, next year. Hopefully this Covid thing is over and done by then. Billy Idol is completely unresrricted and this October so T-Mobile must think so. Itll be good for Golden Knights hockey next year too.
2022 sheesh

The whole tour was announced yesterday. Starts in July 2022. The Vegas show is 2nd to last of the tour. I'm sure the big advanced time is for the 2019 ticket holders. We can get a refund in 30 days if we want. His politics aside, and i'm sure it will be pro-Biden instead of anti-Trump as the last few were, the music is simply great. He's not as old as Keith Richards so I'm sure he'll still be vertical then

Roger is a very cool dude, solid bass player and great wordsmith but I'd rather see David Gilmour perform any day ...he's not showy at all but he's the true 'artist' as far I'm concerned -- singer-guitarist perfectionist. So sad they could not bridge their differences. They were truly great together.
At this point I'm not ever sure what the dispute was about except to the extent that Watters wanted more edgy stuff and Gilmour wanted to stay the traditional Floyd lane of complex melodic development. You'd think there could be room for both. Floyd's secret as far as I'm concerned is their magnificent theme development. The basic melodies are very simple (as Gilmour has demonstrated in a lengthy YouTube video) and Gilmour's forte is how he builds on and embellishes those basics into masterful artworks.
It was never clear to me why Watters could not accept that that formula (if you can call such creativity a formula) was what catapulted Floyd to the top. I always felt there was so much more greatness that was possible for both of them and the band! I mean, there'll never be another Dark Side (or The Wall) -- nor should there be -- but I always felt they were both capable of more and sustained greatness.
Easy for me to say -lol.

Yes. I liked The Wall best because of the "script" it played. Dark Side's isn't as obvious but the thread is still there. Wall movie (the original) played the album as though it was a script with the sound track already written.

For me when Floyd broke up it was such a musical loss. It was like when Jim Morrison died and when the Band declared The Last Waltz, and when the Eagles broke up (well, 6 times, but the 14 year break up seemed permanent until the Hell Freezes Over tour -lol).
I remember in mid-70s my mom came over to my place one afternoon just to visit and, after some chit chat, I sat her down in my comfy listening chair, put my Sennheisers on her head and put on Dark Side -- the uncompressed 'boutique' pressing :weg: which had extraordinary dynamics (if your rig could track it; my Dual + Stanton had no problem). Once she settled down I could tell she really got into it (I was surprised she go through the first cut!) and I observed her while I made some lunch for us (the alarm clocks and 'orgasm' both really got to her) ...44 minutes later she was a PF fan who couldn't stop talking about what she'd heard ;-) If PF can do that to my mom -- someone who grew up on Benny Goodman and Perry Como -- I think they can 'engage' anyone!
