I think mine was 0652 (Heritage, but had #6).
What were the P numbers of the originals? There aren't that many.

No one ever posts that I can see of having one of these on tracks.
Back in the 60's and 70's when new cars like these were made everyone had them out on the weekend and parked at the dealership on Monday's for warranty repair. Now it's all about keeping them at delivered mileage and stored away. :nonono:

The Ford GT rally was just in Scottsdale a week or so ago. There were something like $100,000,000 of new GTs there, being driven. Although almost all of them trailered them to the event :) Day trips around the area plus a day at the track. But you're right - most of them will go back to the vanity garage.
At some point I couldn't rationalize taking a chance driving it and having something happen. Both the 05-06 and new ones have huge blind spots. Race cars don't care since you pass and know where the other vehicle is. In city streets you could park a school bus in the blind spot and changing lanes here involves the right side speeding up. There are no major parts any more so almost all cars that are wrecked are totaled. Somehow people find parts to rebuild them as salvage though. On the other hand I'd have gotten more in insurance than I did at the auction. Sigh.

Back in the ‘60s when I used to run time/speed/distance rallies there were always a couple of Cobras in the field, usually in advanced or ‘computer’ class. We always ran novice or seat-of-pants class (pencil, paper, stopwatch). The key was careful calibration of tire slip rates for various speeds and surfaces — if you did that really accurately you could whip the best rally teams out there …and we did on multiple occasions even taking first OVERALL in the 12 hour Snowball and the venerable All Nighter rallies. But it was great to see small and big-block Cobras, Shelby Mustangs, Griffiths, Italias, Triumphs (meh lol) etc. No one seemed to worry much about driving the cars back then. I enjoyed driving my ‘68 but my friend was not a good nag and We both knew that if we wanted to kick the butts of the top classes I had to do the calibration and navigation so we mostly ran in my friend’s ‘65 289 Mustang vert.

When I was going to the track there were always a Ford GT or two in the mix. One year there was one of the newer ones maybe a 2019? Usually there are 2005-2006’s.
