Frontier is claiming that the merger with Spirit will save over 1Billion in costs yet they anticipate hiring 10,000 works because of the merger.
As well all know the term "Cost Savings" related to a merger means eliminating duplicate jobs, so how will this merger save 1B dollars without laying people off and yet provide a need for new employees?

Frontier used to be a pretty decent airline, ie, one that companies would use for travel. Then I think they went though a bankruptcy and came back as one of the low class places that charge extra for baggage. Then Spirit invented charging for the overhead bin and Frontier followed. So here you have the two lowest class airlines merging. I used to think that both Frontier and Spirit would charge for air if they could find a way.
My daughter says that Frontier is the one whose name survives so I guess that means Spirit is out of business.
If you flew Spirit to Vegas with about 50% probability you could be sure that either your inbound or return flight would be canceled. They flew from small airports and had flights to vegas only a few days a week so if the plane wasn't full they'd just cancel and you'd have to get the next filght (which probably wasn't full either)...
