View Full Version : What cars would you have?

If money were almost no object (let's say $200k/car limit), what 8 cars would you have (not assuming work vehicles or daily driver) assuming you had someone to take care of them and a place to safely keep them?

For me:
1) 1969 Camaro small block (original Z/28 with deluxe interior would be nice), fathom green exterior
2) 1963 Split window Corvette - 427 cid, red exterior
3) 1970 Olds 442 red exterior with white interior
4) 1970 Trans Am 455 SD - White with blue stripes exterior, diamond plate dash (the 1974 car is better looking but WEAK engine)
5) 1967 Chevelle SS 396 - Madeira maroon metallic exterior
6) 1967 Mustang big block, black exterior, black interior
7) 1970 Barracuda 426 Hemi convertible - Plum Crazy exterior
8) 2022 Acura NSX - bright yellow exterior

And honorable mention to two others...a) one of the early Shelby Cobras...a 289 car would be enough engine for me I think...something around 400 HP so may need "hopped up" a little bit. b) 1986 Buick Grand National

I’m thinking a Ridgeline, a 70’s Vette and a GTO.

Have to think about this, most of what I like is over $200K.

Only 200K? Not very many truly collectibles under that.

I'd take all the money and get one single 300SL gull wing.

Nice.

Admittedly I don’t know the models or the prices, but they sure are beautiful, especially in person. Not Pagani beautiful, but still beautiful.

Saw 2 Pagani’s sitting next to each other at Sema, just incredible.

$2-3M over this threads budget. :haha:

But, if someone wants to send me one…. https://www.jamesedition.com/cars/pagani/huayra/2017-pagani-huayra-for-sale-12043587

You know what they say about boats. If it floats or flies, rent it. (There's another clause that can't be used in mixed company.)

No boats for me. You know what they say about boats....the happiest two days of your life are when you buy one and then when you get rid of it.

I didn't see a Ford GT on that list Dave.

Loved my GT (not as much as the Cobra) but they are falling into disfavor because of parts availability. Gauges fail left and right, headlights are 5K if you can get one, gas struts for the "frunk" and clamshell go into backorder for a year. Basic service parts like air cleaners aren't listed any more, the oil pump belt just came into stock after two years of absence. The Oil filter has doubled in price (and you could always buy a BMW equivalent for 1/2 the price of the Ford version). The GT has gotten to be more of a service pain than Ferraris. At least you can still get Ferrari parts for any car they ever made, not so from Ford.

I don't regret buying it when I did, but I'm also very glad I sold it when I did (even though if I sold it now I could easily get 50% more for it than I did.)

Ford wants to full EV and they cant support the customer now. It's sad that Ford seems not to care about the customer anymore. At this point does anyone care about the end user? Do they thing GT owners just throw these cars away when it's time to change the oil? This is nuts that just because it"s a GT that parts are that expensive.

As far as new, there is nothing out there for reasonable money that even seems attractive to me right now. And the more they make them hands off, such as self locking doors, etc. the more I don’t like them. I can’t stand that you can’t move a Jeep product w any door cracked open now and if you do open in a slow roll it slams on the brake. I move cars around lots everyday and most times have a door open moving vehicles a couple feet to where I need them. That few seconds of having to close each door, move, then reopen doors adds up. Mechanics can’t even keep a door open when moving a few feet listening for noises like they have done for eternity. All these little invasive things on cars just piss me off. Lol

That’s just a couple of the things I see more and more that make cars undesirable to me. Seems like car manufacturers are trying to control us just like the government is.

Mr. Gun. You just hit the nail on the head. They put so much crap into these cars that the car now owns you. Once your inside you can't escape. You cant change lanes without a alarm going off or follow to close. I don't want to be safe in a car. I am tired of all this crap I have adaptive cruise control in my SHO and I can't stand it. it brakes when you don't expect it. I can't even use cruise unless there is no one else on the road. If you trust your life to a machine than you have some serious issues. Talk about unsafe.

Tommy Gun

I think part of your challenge is you have 23 vehicles parked around your house. Most have half that many at most. :haha::haha:
