Do any of you still watch these? I've watched both pretty much since the beginning. I missed the first of this fall's new arc - the recorder said it was a rerun but it wasn't. I found that the Roku channel has it delayed a day plus many of the old episodes. They have all years up to a certain date then a gap and then pick up again. My dad was a fan too.
When we lived in Massachusetts from 86-96 we sort of made a game of finding the project house. We did locate probably half of them that were out in the suburban areas west of Boston. We found a Concord project which was very deceptively portrayed on the show by selective camera work.
I remember early on when it was Bob Villa and Norm Abrams and they would visit the site for the first time and walk around and they would discuss the plan of action. I remember thinking on a few of them that the discussion should go like : Bob: Well Norm, what do you think. Norm: Bulldoze it to the ground and start over. Things rarely if ever went like that :)
Ask TOH started much later but watch it too. Some of the tool things are cool as are some of the woodworking projects.
