    Yes you did, in 2006.

Cool! The stock has been sliding so maybe they decided now is the time to re-engage the market with dividends. On June 7 Ford said "[they] expect to achieve investment grade in the near-term and resume paying dividends as appropriate thereafter." Also, most debt has been paid off and the rest restructured to better rates so I guess they felt it was time. Debt is essential to lever growth so they are hopefully striking a good balance.

Mike, how does this look to you given their debt-structure, earnings, expense, expansion/investment, etc plans

Actually, 5-cents on $10.75 closing today is only a 0.465% (1.86%/yr) ...not exactly a celebratory div but might caugh-up some money market watchers given potential growth of both div and stock?

I think it's just further proof that they are on fairly sound footing. I hope they don't get to investment grade, as that would likely cause a drop in the yield on their VRDNs, which I like. Ford Interest Advantage. But they had to come up with a div yielding better than that (1.26% currently for >50k balances).

Good point re investment grade ...that makes sense.

I'm also thinking the stock has mid-/upper-teens potential given the financials -- tho the buyer determines that -lol.
