I occasionally do 15 minute power naps, they do wonders for me.

As you know, I can't do a short nap...takes me 15 minutes to get to sleep. But when I wake up, i'm groggy and it takes me 20-30 minutes before I get going. I have dizziness for about 10 minutes after waking.

Re: What Did You Do Today

Been doing lots of small jobs in the house since I got the two rentals sold. First job was to replace our bath mirrors, as the silver finish was coming off. 1/4" thick, polished edges, frameless, but large. The big one was 6' wide by 42" tall. No way I was going to do that myself...so we hired a local glass company. We also didn't like how the original house builder (23 years ago) made the mirror so tall in one bath that it was underneath the light globes...the lights reflected in your eyes...so I adjusted the sizes of the mirrors slightly...making that one 4" shorter.

I had them start on the mirrors while I took the old ones down and prepped the wall. This included patching the old mounting holes, and I was also concerned that since the mirror was shorter that the "newly-exposed" area behind the mirror would look different due to paint fading, so I decided to paint the entire wall that each mirror was on with the same color paint.

This is how it originally looked...note the mirror is up behind the globes.

Cut in around everything during painting...I find it easier to remove light fixtures rather than paint around them.

Here is how it looks after

Here is other bathroom. This one has the mirror on the same wall as the toilet, so I removed toilet tank to paint behind it...I hate when people are lazy and don't paint behind toilet.

ALso while I was at it, I took down the TV in our bedroom and filled holes where we used to have a TV surround and repainted that wall...rehung new TV (larger). Don't have an after photo.

Then it was time to seal our granite countertops...we do this every 2 years. The powder is hardened minerals that were around the sink area where we splash water. We do have a water softener...maybe I need to adjust it lol.

While we were at it, soaked the faucet in vinegar to remove hard water residue....soaked overnight.

Then I decided to change the shelving in the garage...for my handyman work. I had a small unit that was a bit unstable (right next to the Mustang), it was 3' x 18". Upgraded to a more industrial type that's 4' x 24"...and MUCH more stable. I then took the smaller unit and put in the basement near the man cave and made a snack pantry out of it lol. Also showing my alcohol backup storage near some of my wood storage lol

Ok, so this one is at a rental...the tenants mowed the grass and were not careful about the downspouts. They hit them with the mower and damaged the downspout...they also removed the downspout extensions that route water away from the foundation. I fixed this and charged them $60.

Back at home, we had a tree removed last year...and planted some of that fast patch grass just a few days ago...we shall see how it does. All those fingers were roots he dug up.

I had this brad nailer for years, and the rubber tip broke. About 3 years ago I tried to find a replacement, but the company had been bought out by another company and I could not find one...so I bought a cheap Hitachi brad nailer, which I've been using for a few years but don't really like it as well. I searched again last month and found a replacement tip, so I bought it and got this working again. I'll be selling the Hitachi now.

Finally, we noted that the bath vent fans were dirty, so Terry wanted me to take the grills down to clean them. Two of the three were in good shape, but one was really badly aged/warped/cracked/discolored, so we ordered a new one and installed it. Much better now.

Naps don’t always make me feel great, but a lot of times I just want to lay down for 10-20 mins to take weight off my back to help it feel better. Too much bending over in cars dyeing seats for 30 years. :(

That cutout in the wall just gets me.
