    Michelin Recall

Put this in the TSB forum because I don't see a recall forum, unless I'm not allowed to view that forum?

Recall on Michelin LTX M/S LT 225/75R16 115/112R LRE

I have these on my work van so need to get them replaced.

The good side for me is that I have 11,000 miles on my van this past year and now I get free tires!

Did you actually check the sidewall to make sure your tires fall under this?

Tire Description DOT Sequence DOT Production Periods (Inclusive)

Wow! I like their description of the symptom: "experienced tread loss and/or rapid air loss" ...

    ...i.e. they explode?!

Metal halide lamps (those bright, white, lamps usually used in gymnasiums, factories and parking lots) have a warning on them that most people ignore - "Turn off lamps once a week for 15 minutes."

By doing that you greatly reduce the possibility of what one of our engineers always described as: "a violent EOL (end-of-life) condition synonymous with a sudden non-passive failure resulting in a high-pressure shower of super-heated quartz particles into the immediate atmosphere."

    IE: the lamp will explode.

Our yard light is this type of bulb, even though it turns off during the day we have had 2 of them over the years explode violently.
