Why would directions say not to use a GFCI “cord” w a GFCI outlet? What happens?

Not sure if that means I can do it or not.

If I have the GFCI “cord” plugged into a GFCI outlet, it is still protected?

I may have to reset both which isn’t an issue for me.

    If I understand this correctly.

Yes, you're still protected but which GFCI will trip is problematic. It's not the issue like the video since the cord and outlet are likely close. But in an older house multiple separate locations may be protected by a single GFCI. It really frosts my pumpkin that the my downstairs bath is off a GFCI in the garage. As I recall code no longer allows this although I recall there may be an exception for a pair of baths that share a wall.
    Cheers.

Yeah, we have that in our house. Our garage freezer outlet went out and it took me a while to figure out where the GFCI was…buried behind a bench.

Our secondary bath out is off our master bath GFCI.

And our outdoor outlets are off the third bathroom GFCI, that one took a while to figure out also.

Ok, I get now, and yes the GFCI outlet will be right at the GFCI plug.

Working on a sub panel like this set up.

I’ll have a 100amp off the main to power the sub panel and for now a 220V 50amp for the hot tub and a 120V 30 amp for the camper outlet.

What is your main panel rated for, what is the breaker size? How much load is on the main panel?

The subpanel may require a main cut off (or a secondary breaker). I wired up one panel during the flood in '13 and the electrician that pulled the service wire from the main panel put a breaker at both ends.
