How can I add my 240v 20 amp welder plug to this generator pictured?
My problem is the welder plug is 3 wires and the plug at the generator uses 4 wire prongs?

.
Looks like you want to go from a 50 amp 2 pole plug to a 50 amp 3 pole receptacle.

You may need something like this.

I think you're caught in the old code - new code dilemma. The lower connector is the new code type. There seems to be 37A fuses "above" it. The other 240v connector is also 4 prong(right?) but I think is a 20A "twist" type connector.
If you were installing a dryer they would tell you to get a new pigtail. Does the welder have a removable power cord wired behind a panel???
As I recall the dryer configuration is:
4 wire: 2 power, ground and neutral separated (usually a shunt you remove)
3 wire: 2 power, neutral/ground combined (shunt installed that bridges chassis ground with neutral).
Dryers still can be configured both ways since a new appliance can't drive a code change to the socket. We had a gas dryer in our Colorado house but I wired 240v just in case (a good practice to run both gas and electric for dryers and ranges). During the flood I had to run some 240V heaters that only had the 4 prong plug so I upgraded the socket in the laundry room to 4 prong.
Cheers.

If the welder is 240v/20a then you want the socket that is shown in the white outline that is paired with the 120v socket. The breakers above (it looks like they are separated for each leg, not good) say 30A.
What is the current rating on the sockets? It should be printed on both of them.
I'm not sure it is because I concur that the plug looks like a 50A plug.
DO NOT PLUG A 20A appliance into the 50A circuit (37A in this case). The wiring will become a fuse before the fuse becomes a fuse. If it is really 20A use the other socket.
