    It's time

I didn't upgrade to WIN10 today either (already run it -lol).

WIN10 has changed with the various feature releases over the years -- very customizable now -- I turned off all the crap -lol -- you can make it much like WIN7.

    I actually like WIN10 a lot!

I've turned off all the BS, all the spying stuff, Cortana is gone, gutted the WIN10 app boxes, desktop setup like WIN7, etc. (you can have multiple desktops too but I have no need).

My and Jan's WIN10 machines (one a 15" basic ACER, and the other a 17" ACER w/IPS-panel (w/100%+ color space for Photoshop work) have run dead solid now for 4-5 years - both with SSDs (a Kingston Tech in the 15 and a Samsung Pro in the 17) added when new.

Yeah, my work computer has Windows 10 which I have customized to look like Windows 7, but that computer came with 10.

Yep, the only thing different as I stare at the screen now is the Start Menu which I see on Google that someone makes an alternate "shell" that looks like the Win7 start menu. The Win7 start is much more compact.
    Cheers.

Agree, tho I don't use the start menu much. Between shortcuts and task bar I access most that way.

It's an easy process. My bud in NYC who is still trying to figure out drag-and-drop had no problem. You pretty much just initiate the download and follow the prompts.
When I did Jan's it was almost 5 years ago so I don't recall the details but it was straightforward. Still scary tho -- never underestimate what MS can screw up -lol

Re: What Didn't You Do Today

I’m mainly worried that my current Windows software has some glitches including always saying some files are missing so it’s hard to do some stuff. Loading up is always a chore so I just keep it on 24/7 to help. Afraid some of these glitches will transfer or not allow the new software to run correctly.

That and learning a whole new way to do stuff.
