Cell phone cameras have come a long way. The cell phone guys must have hired away some of the DSLR engineers. They've figured out that the quality of the image is only partly about the sensor and mostly to do with the software. Apple iPhone photos are wonderful. My new Galaxy S10 is a market improvement over the S7....

I have an S7 and looking at the S10e, it is physically the same size as the S7 with slightly less screen resolution. The cameras on the S10 and S10+ are amazing.

I bought this used iPhone 7 for $157 with a couple cases included. The 7 got a much improved camera with lots of baked-in hdw & and sw camera improvements over the 6 and includes a nice set of post-image processing tools too. Not like Photoshop class tools but quite effective.

Yeah, all software. The phone has a decent processor so with a decent camera (12MP but only only wide angle) and image processing sw they can do some clever capture manipulation and you can tweak pics fairly effectively. All the pics I’ve posted here have been processed using only those in-phone tools.

Of course if you want far better cell phone camera the iPhone XI Pro is the way to go. It’s a grand (base. Max is $1,000. w/ 512GB $1,349 and $1,449 rspectively) but has 4 cams: wide, normal, tele and selfie. I’ll never buy anything new from Apple -lol- (as long they remain predatory) but by the time this one needs replacing maybe a used XI Pro 128GB will be $400-500 or less.

I just got the S10e. Coming from an S7 it is not and day faster and I love the smaller form factor as compared to the S10 and S10+.

Wild grapes are looking good! Still tart but surprisingly big considering how little rain we’ve had.
