It's not about the game anymore. It's not about the money ether. It's about social issues like Abortion. Oh how can we help to make sure it can continue.

One can only hope that their ulterior motive was to get him in and wash him out so he goes away permanently. The sports guy that covered it for the local channel said something about "he says he's in shape" and said "but that's not football shape". He was a mediocre player at best when he was active and lots of time has passed. Show him he doesn't measure up and he'll go away and never be heard from again.

    Broncos goes to Sam Walton

    Elway crying in his soup

That article said Elway didn't take part ownership. I'd thought he had. Bad choice.

And could Manning come in a role similar to Elway's previous?

This is the second year in a row that he has been given an opportunity to work out with a team that hasn't gone anywhere. It seems these are just pacifying events so the NFL can say he is not being ignored. Honestly for as long as he has been away and how he played his last year in the league he realistically should not be considered.

BTW with all of this free time he has had since being out of football how much time and effort has he personally spent on addressing social issues? After all wasn't that what he claimed he was using his position in the NFL doing?

My take on the whole situation is if you look back at the footage of him on the sidelines the game this all started he wasn't sitting on the bench during the National Anthem because he was protesting anything, it was because he was sulking and pissed off at being replaced as the starter and actually didn't even notice that the National Anthem was playing or that the other players around him were standing for it. He was self absorbed in his present situation like a spoiled brat. When asked later about why he was sitting during the National Anthem he couldn't simply say I was self absorbed in my demotion and didn't notice what was happening so he stupidly came up with the claim from the headlines to cover for himself and it completely backfired into the situation he has had to take responsibility for since. Had he gone and gotten involved off of the field doing something to back his claim that he wants to make a difference in what he is protesting I would have a different take on this but he hasn't so for me he deserves everything that has happened to him since.

Yeah, when I heard he was here my thought was "the NFL team owners decided to shut him up and give him a shot. They drew straws, shortest straw lost." It was the Raiders this year.

I've had DirectTV for about 25 years mainly because of the NFL package. We will see what happens soon...but if it moves to Amazon Prime we likely would get rid of DirectTV and for the first time in a LONG time I'd have cable.

Direct TV only continued to exist because solely for the exclusive package they have with the NFL. Once they lose that they will dwindle away.
