Today's Media Release on all new F150 and Electric F150...
Video of Today's Broadcast Media Event at The Rouge This video is 30 minutes but worth the watch. Lots of historic bits in this video which has several on screen video segments introduced during the presentation including a very cool inserted 2 minute 2021 F150 intro video segment from around 17:30-19:30 (from parts to roll off in 2 minutes). Ford claims the new Electric F150 is real work truck with a "total cost of ownership more than 40% less than any other F150" -- that's one serious claim! Oh, and it also has a large Frunk (front trunk) for valuables or whatever. I also noticed toward the end of the video in a brief segment on the UAW and Ford, that some of the scrolling "top chat comments" (on the right of the YouTube webpage) show a lot of general and UAW anti-union sentiment is out there.

This video is more F150 specific intro video. Tidbit: Ford assembles more full size pickups in the US that GM and Ram combined!
You can skip the silly countdown which ends at about 9:40. Hosted by Dennis Leary, the rest of the video is commentary interspersed with video bits and showing all the major new features of the F150 (the new console is very cool as is the tailgate work area -- a long-time contractor dream. You can even sleep in the cab -- not only do the seats FULLY recline flat, but the seat area rises to match the seat-back height to make a comfortable contoured sleeping platform out of the front seat for when you just need to sleep in the truck. Successive Ford folks walk you through the extensive list of various new features. Around 33:00 they introduce it with the 2 minute build segment and at around 43:00 they introduce Power Boost (electric hybrid power assist) version -- the only Full Hybrid in a full-size pick-up So much stuff -- this 2021 F150 is a major introduction! Six gas, diesel and hybrid powertrains. This thing is going to sell like hotcakes!

The all electric truck should be a hit with the in-city contractor crowd. I'm sure it can tow well (instant, high sustained torque) but I doubt it would tow my bobcat for very far. Nonetheless, it's a contractor's grocery getter - lumber yard for 2x4 and sheetrock then back to the job site. Never gets to range in the work day. Perfect.
Cheers.

Nothing here yet.
Yep.. and high-capacity power station and tailgate work center.
It's only an F150 but I suspect towing will exceed easily 10,000 pounds (when not pulling that 1M pound freight train -lol).
The full hybrid version (available in a couple months) exceeds 12,000 towing and also has the power-station and tailgate work center options.

The hybrid's "generator" is a pretty cool feature...
I remember when this generation came out - the all aluminum body version. They claimed a price point of something like 20K. Well, sure you could build one that way (base only, no options), but not a single dealer I could find had any. Anywhere. As I recall the cheapest real ones were about 30K+.
Dealers don't keep "work trucks" in inventory.
Cheers.

Tim, your F150 Platinum is going to be slick!!
2021 F150 pic of optional 'recliner' seats. As the back gets down to about 30* the rear edge of the seat part gradually rises so that the whole thing is nearly flat once fully reclined. It appears that the rear bottom folds up and back. Not sure what the bulge is on the far side -- possibly subwoofer/storage in there?

FAIL!!! I put this into the "bad implementation of a good idea" category. These look like very uncomfortable rocker recliner seats. A comfortable sitting upright chair rarely turns into a comfortable reclining seat. OK if you're just going to lay on your back, maybe for a nap (while resting in the passenger seat while someone else drives). But the driver side too? Nah. I'll not be buying a Ford because of this.
If you want a bed, Nash got it right.
