Bill would have arranged those so the salamander was screwing the bird.

The order was driven by size. The two tallest ones are on the outside. Longest in the middle and the middle ones are sized to fit. The general placement was to keep the tops reasonably level except for the two outside tall ones, then on the bottom the bottom part of the pieces are roughly 8" from the wall arch. Except after putting it up I'd like the roadrunner to be a little lower because its feet are so spindly. But I'm not getting the ladder out again and I don't want to patch holes from hangers. Noone but me notices the aesthetics anyway.

Have to say that moving here was a good choice. Single story is better for my back. The amazing thing is utilities. The previous owner paid off the solar so the electric bills since we moved in have only been <$20/mo. It's a lot smaller house and I've been keeping the heat up a tad more but still our gas bill is about 80-90 during these cold months, where it was over 300 and sometimes (depending on gas prices) over 400 at the old house. Water is lots less but yard is 1/2 the size. Pool is harder to keep clean because of the plants nearby shed their little evergreen "needle leaves".

Our electric has slowly gone up, some here saying a lot but I don’t see it.

Our monthly has been around $390 and now it’s around $410.

They tell us we aren’t paying for the windmills off our coast but that is BS. Giant waste of time and resources just to supply and few houses.

We have 2 nuclear plants within 100 miles, but need more.

You're paying for all of the demand those data centers around you are causing. Believe me there are several in your area.

Our business made a quick overnight switch from the medical service industry to data centers in 2020, we can't keep up with the growth happening and we are only one of about 5 companies making UPS units for that range of power.

Had big wind and dust storm last night. Pool was covered but cover blew around too. Leaves and flower petals floating on top, on the tangled cover and on the bottom along with a visible coat of dust on all horizontal surfaces.

Cleaner and skimmer would take forever and not get steps/benches so I got out leaf rake for top and vacuum for flats. Vacuum replaces cleaner while attached. Still stuff suspended but by the time i got back from dentist it was mostly cleaned up and water clear. Some dust in suspension settled on flats so one more trip with the vacuum and it looked good

What magnitude of data centers? For years I drove by these places "Switch" that had what looked like semi-trailers backed up to loading docks. Turns out these are major data centers in south central Las Vegas and have multiple locations clustered nearby - he bought up a bunch of land all at once.

Anyway what I thought were trailers are really modular heating/cooling units. The buildings are basically "apartments for rent". They provide power, cooling, security, and a network hose. Companies provide their own equipment that has to meet certain requirements. The system is kinda cool. They pump cold air into the raised flooring and from there it goes up through the equipment, takes the heat away and exhausts it through the ceiling into a uniquely designed roof "plenum" designed to take the load. He has tons of patents on the physical plant.

They own several of the largest solar fields and were the instigator of the "Divorce Nevada Energy" movement that several casinos. Like our town in Colorado they have a "wheeling arrangement", whereby the infrastructure wires are used to relay power that is injected into the system. Lyons didn't buy electricity from Longmont, instead bought power from a Nebraska based utility and it flowed through Longmont which got a relay charge for shifting it our way.

I was going to do a physical tour but they shut them down after the pandemic but do "virtual tours". Its all quite interesting.
