    Battery operated lawnmower?

Neighbor girl came up to me today asking me for help buying a new lawnmower. She is a widow. I've been helping her over the last few years keeping her gas mower going but it finally bit the dust. She has some health issues so I thought a battery powered mower might be the right choice for her.

Does anyone have any experiences with these? She would want something self-propelled with a bag. The Ego models seem to have some pretty good reviews online.

Did you Google "best electric lawn mower " there are lots of "10 best" rankings and reviews.

Ego is a China, inc. product. Check out lowes and home depot private label and who makes them.

    Dewalt has one.

For these larger units I've see ones that use a large dedicated battery pack and stand alone charger. And those that use multiple hand tool packs. Not sure if there is an advantage to one over the other

How long does it take to cut with the gas unit? You'll need a battery pack to last longer

The EGO stuff is pretty good, that is the kind I would get... They make some big batteries...

Yes, I watched quite a few videos. Hence my statement the the Ego's got good online reviews.

I can do my front and backyard in about 45 minutes with my gas mower. Her yard is about the same as mine.

I like TORO for their Gas stuff. I have a Toro snowblower. Love it. I don't know them for battery powered stuff.

We have always had Toro gas mowers. Not a fan of anything electric.

Our Toro motors have been $200-$300 and last 20 years. A battery for an electric mower is probably $300 every 2-3 years.

Yeah, same... and it started on first orxsecond pull every time

From reliability and longevity the cost per year of Toro is historically appealing. Plus they're made in America
